Sally Dion's multimedia practice focuses on the ordinary and extraordinary moments in life. She documents the news on personal and global level. Marginalized figures and narratives taken from art, history, and literature. The artist explores the roles and expectations placed on women. Female archetypes - from goddesses to madonnas fill her monotypes, drawings and textile structures.

Sally attained her BFA and MFA from Massachusetts College of Art and Design. She teaches printmaking and drawing at Middlesex Community College and the Essex Art Center Lawrence MA.
She has shown her work in various museums and galleries including Kingston Gallery , Massart X, UNH Museum, Fitchburg Museum, Brush Gallery, Silver Center at PSU, Touchstone Gallery DC, Miniprint International in Cadaques Spain.
Her studio at 599 Canal in Lawrence is where she accesses and press and works with other likeminded artists.

Currently, I am the artist in residence at Studio 599 in Lawrence Ma. Previously, I was at the Art Center in Dover NH for two years teaching workshops and running the print shop. I attended Mass College of Art and Design and received my BFA with a focus on printmaking in 1982. For twenty years, I continued to make art but only participated in local art fairs and taught classes to students and adults on a limited basis. Then ten years ago, I began to participate in an open classroom experience at New Hampshire Institute of the Arts with 9 to 10 other printmakers. We started to gather and apply to shows together with the goal of promoting the art of printmaking. I recently completed my MFA (August 2021) in MassArt's low residency program. I look forward to continuing my rigorous yet joyful practice of printmaking including monotype/monoprint, serigraph, lino and wood cut and solar plate along with the very traditional etching and lithography. Recently, I have taken the turn to printing and forming my art into the third dimension using textile and resin objects
